I just bought an Ipod Shuffle
Veredict: Ipod Shuffle is cool, very useful, copy things from here to there, listen some random music. That's cool.. but.

ITUNES SUCKS! I hate that program, I always hated it, why do I need a shitty program to copy tunes to an USB device LCDless? Also, it just associated all the MP3 to it (when I said NO! I DON'T WANT TO ASSOCIATE THEM, AND DON'T ASK ME AGAIN). And as last point, Itunes does have some uncompatibility with Suitcase (font mananger), and crashes it. I never had problems with Suitcase.

SHITUNES!

Except for the "trendy" stuff, I don't see what's so cool with the iPod. There are other, much more compatible MP3 players around, and, as good, if not more, than the iPod.

I'd have gone for a 5Gb Rio Carbon... cheaper than the iPod, with higher capacity, and plays WMA too.

But that's just my oppinion, of course... just enjoy your player :-)
who wants WMA?
a friend of mine just sent me a link with a program that allows you to update your ipod easilly. I can delete SHitunes now :D

I not really an Apple fan. I wanted to buy something from other brand. But there was nothing better that the shuffle for what I wanted.

What's cool of Ipod shuffle? 12h of music, you can charge it just conecting it to your USB port. Is very small and doesn't have harddisk on it. 1Gigabyte to move files from home to work, work to home..

I don't need an LCD telling me the song I'm listening (i know my tunes) and also with a randomplay and normalplay I got enough to be happy.

I was looking for something like that of another brand, but only Apple had it.
sole: I do, at least, Windows Media 9 rocks.

trace: I dunno, I don't have any portable device since I don't use public transport, and am usually in front of a computer (or in my car, or otherwise anywhere I can just put music on).

But when I looked at the possibilities (I really wanted a nice and portable mini-disk), the Rio Carbon offered all an iPod did, plus more, and at less price (at least, when I looked, I have no clue of prices as of today... it was around $200, the 5Gb model).

It's a little bit bigger, maybe (due to the LCD, probably), but merely the size of a business card and pretty thin.

Battery lasts much more than iPod's (20 hours vs ~12 for the iPod), 5Gb vs 1, etc.

NOTE: I just checked the prices (I hadn't done this for ages), and the iPod is now ~$100 for the 512Mb model, vs the Rio's $200 for the 5Gb model...

Although there IS a difference in the hardware, it's a fair enough point to get the iPod and not the Rio :-)

As I can see, there is a power supply for that Rio Carbon. Shuffle doesn't need that :)

En mi caso no a sido venazo, realmente lo necesitaba, que la gp32 no me servia para mp3 :D

trace: you can charge the Carbon from the USB directly too, it has an AC charger for comvenience only :)

Not only AC charging might be faster, but you don't always want to charge stuff from the USB (or have an USB port ready to charge up your portable device).
ok, the thing is that when I went to FNAC i didn't found anything better than that.. I mean Carbon wasn't there ;) I will have to enjoy my shuffle ;)
Yes, yes, of course, I was not trying to convince you! :-)

And sorry if it actually sounded like that... I don't even have a portable MP3 device so what do I know :-D
Another good point that i found on shuffle is that doesn't need cable to connect to the computer. I have a gp32 and ofcourse i cann't go everywhere with the cable to connect it to the computer tho I need that a lot of times. So that's a very good point to buy a shuffle ;)
ok, i see you like it...!

Have your say!
