Flattr
As you may have seen, I've recently added a few Flattr buttons to some of my experiments.

Flattr? What? Here here:

I really hope it to succeed. It's like the old (and not so old) days, when the artists were funded by the people that enjoyed their work.

You may wonder, what was wrong with Paypal donations? Well... Paypal it's a bit like having to go to the bank every time you wanted to donate a coin.

Here it's my profile over there.

Flattr ... gets you everywhere?
Awesome!!!!
Fantastic Idea!
Seen it some time ago. I hope it does succeed at solving "distribute art freely but still getting a penny for good work" dilemma.

Sadly at the moment site does not show much of content I would like to spend money on...
I always click a couple of banners on a site that I appreciated or got something useful from. Provided there are ads.
But that's wrong, why should you have to "show interests" on completely unrelated products in order to show your appreciation to what you liked in the first place?
Word, flattr let's you just give them money direct. Plus clicking on banners doesn't always generate income for the web owner. I use an MLM (Herbal products), Affiliate (silver and gold coins) and Flattr. I make my own banners and link to sites where I'll get commission from sales.

As far as flattr succeeding and artists being able to make money off it, it will take more artists finding out about it. The users will come if the buttons start appearing on their favorite sites.

If you dig throw enough you can find stuff that is related to content you'd like to see on flattr, click that to encourage more of it's kind.
