Papervision3D Previewer 1.3
Trent Grover from iMed Studios missed some features and went ahead and did them himself. Once done he shared the code. I say, way to go! ;)

Here is the list of his changes:

  • updating to compile against PV3D public beta 2 (updated from svn on 09/02/01)
  • rewrote the camera system (too much has changed, but ends up simpler)
  • included loading for more model types (DAE, Ase, 3ds, kmz, MD2)
  • added animation playback for DAE and MD2 files
  • added model scale change via up and down arrow keys
  • mouse click selects current mesh for scale change

I cleaned the code (my part mostly) and made it FDT friendly. While at it I also cleaned the repository a bit.

Wow, very cool! Exactly tomorrow I'll need it, for the first time. Nice coincidence :]
Lovely, well done Trent (and mrdoob:))
I tried your link to Google code but I can't access the repository :s :s
The project, unfortunately, has been discontinued.
Why has it been discontinued ? It was such a cool tool ! Is there a way to get our hands on an older version of it ! Please, i desperately need it :(
Why has this little tool been discontinued?

The Papervision3D book by Packt Publishing refers to the tool.

Is there any download availabe now, such as an old/unsupported version for the book users to run.

Thanks
Griz
I just stopped using Papervision3D... I'm sure the sources are still available somewhere and you can continue it if you need.
