And now... can flash render a 320k+ voxels head?
6 commentsAgain, it can, and damn fast. Well, if it runs fast is all thanks to Román Cortés. which has done a magnificent job optimising the experiment.

If you want to know a little bit more about the details check Román's post.
Seems like using voxels is the best way to have highly detail 3D meshes rendered with Flash these days, although it also has it's limitations...
Ah!! Sources are available this time. (This time it's quite hard to understand tho ;P).

Great idea and really smooth, any chance of explaining where the data.v file was exported from.
Yes, that info is in Román's post...

Can BitmapData.setPixel() fill your Browser at ~30fps?
I can't believe i'm the first one to post a comment here! (Is there a bug about it?)
I mean this demo is just... amazing!!!
It's unbelievable how smooth it runs !
According to your code there are 321059 voxels rendered about 30 times per second on my computer...
And you've done it without using any 3D library, just good old mathematics and 2D drawings...
You both are my new gods.
Please continue your excellent job !
