Processing on Ubuntu 8.04
2 commentsTook a little bit but managed to make it run.
Steps:
1. Download the Linux version
2. If you don't have it, install Java Runtime (from Add/Remove Applications)
3. Go to System / Synaptic Package Manager, search for the libstdc++5 package and install it.
4. Unpack the .tgz that you just downloaded and execute the file 'processing'.
5. Enjoy.
With these packages installed shouldn't give any errors.

it works. Thanks a lot.
FYI, I use it on Ubuntu 8.04 64-bit, and i use libstdc++6 and Sun JRE 6. So everybody with that same configuration should also able to install Processing.

Fire Effect explained
If Compiz is the composite manager on gnome, the screen crashes slowly when I run a sketch. Only if I disable compiz and -not necesseraly- set metacity to be the composite manager.
And ideas why could this happen?
I am having a Nvidia card with latest driver from repository.
