2 commentsAs you probably know, neon (xplsv.com vjtool) binaries and sources was released exactly 1 month ago.
Some people told me that the release was not a good idea, because, for example, Spain is full of lame vj people putting some random videos downloaded from internet and doing nothing. And that they were going to use my visuals and also the tool. Well, honestly, about that point, I don't care, they can use my visuals if they please that will be much better than not to still in my HD, and about to use the tool, perhaps if they saw an xplsv gig wherever they can think like "wow! I want that tool! They do nice stuff!".. As always the tool is "only" a video and 3D scenes mixer/syncher. You CAN'T create new stuff with the tool, you will need to use photoshop and 3D Studio Max to create new stuff, and you will need time and good taste for that. Also the tool have a lot of bugs and there is no documentation, and nevere will be I'm afraid.
In the other hand, some people sourprised when said "ey! neon rox!! I spend all the las night trying to figure out how it works". Hahaha, really some people did that, but I guess they were playing only with the visuals I released.
We released the tool because mac started the v2 totally new last year and then leave the project. So the v1 was basicly dead, yeah, you can do stuff but have a lot of bugs and sometimes is really hard to do stuff with it. So as the tool is much better in some points that the actual commercial tools we released to "improve" the sector, and if someone wants to use it.. good! and also if someone wants to improve it.. fucking good!
A friend of mine told me yesterday that in some spanish club there was playing xplsv.com videos where you can see the xplsv.com logo on the right-down corner. Probably was some of the videos on the site right now. That guy asked me if I was angry because that.. No! just the opposite, I'm glad that they visual are good enough to be used wherever. Some months ago some guy told me that in some duth rave there was playing using videos from the demo MDMA on the visuals, that's cool!
