Windows XP Updates... annoying
Is it just me or these days Microsoft are "sending" a lot of updates and which forces you to restart the system almost everyday?

I'm tired of moving the window of 'Restart now' to outside the screen so it stops asking me for it :(

I'm gonna be a mac fan here... I don't remember the last time I had to restart MacOS.

On MacOSX: Preferences Pane -> Software Updates -> Search now.
Oh jesus, one update that requires restart!! (something related with WLAN)

macosx, windows, linux (apt-get upgrade = your linux stop working for 2 hours),... , all of them are the same shit! good bless amigaOS!
Corrections:
WLAN -> WWAN
good bless -> god bless :P
which machine do you use for running linux? one 486 connected with a 56k modem? :P
even when a package manager is working, there's no reason for a linux box to stop working. you can always throttle down the process. two words: nice and htop.

anyway, about the particular annoyance of the please-restart-because-your-mortal-soul-is-in-danger: just get a window hide-minimizer tool, such as 4t tray minimizer, and you will restar your computer at your will, not at microsoft's. or select when do you want to install the updates.

microsoft's update release cycle is usually quite regular: every second tuesday of the month, unless there are no updates.
xphere you are a moron. I can use my Ubuntu install during any update, even on a vmplayer virtual machine.
