Right... you may seen that some weeks ago there was a Windows Automatic Update which installed a "Genuine Advantage" thing... Luckily I saw this before install it on the computer we use as server at home, so I was able to cancel it.

That really pissed me off and made me lose all the little interest that I had about Windows Vista.

I don't think I'll move to Windows Vista, really... I'll probably turn in a Linux guy or MAC guy before doing that. By now I'm testing some linux distros in order to get rid of that Windows copy from that machine. I'm ovbiously looking for a distro which uses Xgl, I tried Kororaa, but crashed after some play with it. Looks like ATI drivers are going to be a problem in all this stuff. Well, meanwhile I found out that you don't need Macromedia Flash in order to compile SWF files, yes, I know I probably has been quite late on this, but as you can see on this Article (spanish) written by Zárate it's quite straight forward to avoid Windows for this matter. However, Macromedia released the SDK so you can also compile AS3 in any platform (afaik)

Photoshop will be the one that will keep me on Windows or macOS probably. I can learn MAYA or something like that in order to don't have to use 3DStudioMAX anymore. Also the other thing that keep me in this Window platform is the demoscene and the VJ (neon) stuff...

So, well... Don't be surprised yet... All this change will take place probably in some years... Maybe by then MenuetOS (which I think is how an OS should be like (it's still 600kbytes!)) will be the one... Who knows?

And, yeah, I know that the Genuine Advantage update has already been cracked, it's still anoying anyone.

UPDATE: I've just tired that Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor, which checks if your computer is good enough to run Vista, and well, looks like my laptop is good enough, however seems that isn't ready because it doesn't have 15GB free. Does that mean that Vista will need 15GB free?! WHAT FOR?!!!
