AntiSPAM system, part2
For those who didn't move to the darkside yet (wordpress, blogger, ..) and are still developing his own blog system (right now I think that i'm the only one doing it (well, sole too)), here is what I did to stop the SPAM I was receiving as comments. For doing this sole was moderating all the comments one by one, I didn't want to do that, then I started to receive SPAM, and she told me to only accept comments from known people, from names that are already on the list. I didn't like the idea either.

So what I decided to do was just saving the IPs and realized that they always use the same IP. That was clear then, I added another field in the mysql database indicating if the comment was SPAM or not, and then when anyone adds a comment, the system checks if the IP is in the database, if the IP was flagged up as SPAM, it will leave it in the database but flagged up as SPAM too. If the IP is new or already in the database but without any SPAM indication it goes directly adds to the database and shows the comment.

After having the idea and developing it, sole, again, told me that it's the same system that wordpress uses. And by now it works, sometimes there is a new SPAM with a new IP that I have to flag up as SPAM, but it's much better than moderating comment by comment. Tho not too many people writes here :P

Tibidabo: the obsolete funfair
This is one month older already but who cares? Well, on 31th of December we were in Barcelona and some of the things we wanted to do was going out to Parc Guell and also to Tibidabo. Then we run out of time and we just were able to do one of them. We decided Tibidabo as it was going to be cool to see an old funfair that was still working (kind of).

I've already been there for some times when I was really young, I actually don't remember too much. It's something that I had all the 20 years I've been in that city but somehow I didn't went to there. So I didn't been there for something like 15 years.

In order to do a complete trip we used an old tram that they still have to get there and also a railway. Once there, half of it was close because they weren't opening all of it on christmas, a shame because it really turned to be a very small funfair. It was mainly for kids or atleast I'm too fat, I wasn't able to fit properly in any attraction ;) Even the well know airplane!!

So well, after all, we had a great time! I'll really recomend you to go there for one of those Sundays you don't know what to do. Not everyday you can see a 50+ years old funfair!

Check out the pictures of the day!

PS: It was such a cold day!

Against the world
I feel like this every morning when I go work. Just before going inside Victoria station there are hundreds of pedestrians going in my oposite way as Victoria does have a lot of offices buildings. I really feel like I'm the only one going in the other way.

It really feels weird, but in a good way I think ;)

Si quereis leer mas "oldies" aqui teneis unos cuantos textos mas.

Demoscene @ Cirsa
I'm not trying to compete with the famous curiouslikeacat-girl of the spanish demoscene and her series of demoscene gossip posts but there is some gossip I wanted to talk about. So if there is anything I like to gossip about sceners/retired-sceners is the place where they are / where they work (yes, this post was inspired by this pouet.net thread).

So, looks like the well-known Cirsa (btw, what a shitty website which uses a Reason example tune - quality!) is being recruiting quite a lot of catalan sceners latelly. The first one I knew that went to work there was Xphere / Zon@n (coder of 2 fast 2 intro, gran scener 2), then my brother (Dr.Kami / MCD+Fuzzion, coder of ep6invtro, kukka, ignition...) went to there to do some temporal work but looks like he's finally got a permanent job and he is in fact working with another new recruitment of Cirsa:  Chc / MCD (coder of moderator, crazy...). Working on there my brother find out that there where another MCD old member and he didn't know: Marathon Man / MCD (coder of rc-mania, revolution...). But that's not all, looks like HlodWig / Anaconda (coder of 359.60, Eunectex, The Requiem) is also working there!

As you can see, the famous topic "demosceners always finish working in games" is kind of true, because in addition to Cirsa (argh! that horrible website again!!) there is somewhere in Barcelona another games company (Microjocs), this time focused in mobile games which in fact was created by another well known amiga scener: Drareg / Ozone (coder of Smoke Bomb, Fetish,...) And this one really had a lot of sceners working, as far as I know BP / Fuzzion, Ufix / Fuzzion, CCM / Fuzzion, Sml / Fuzzion, Pasop / ex-threepixels, Madgoblin / Zon@n (you know what these people did, don't you? ;)) are working or did work there. But in this case there are always really bad rumours about the company and mr. Drareg. Hope those rumours stop some day ;)

Then we got Pyro as well, but I really don't know who exactly is working there, feel free to complete the information with those ones you know ;)

catalnglish
Looks like when there is a language that you don't really use, the time you start using it again it mixes with another secondary language (only if you speak three languages). And that happens when I try to speak catalan. Here I don't really speak catalan with noone so when I go back Barcelona I have to think a lot what to say until I found the catalan words, that could be an example of what my brain does:

"No hi ha enough space in that field."

So, you start the sentence in catalan, but when you don't find the next word, the english one come first and you finish the sentence in english. And mixing languages in sentences is nothing new, but is new to me the fact that I don't control it in this case

"L'altre dia vaig anar al cinema i va ser una peli forsa dolenta and the people no paraba de push me when entraba."

Weird, uh?!

xplsv.tv 2005 report

Looks like the site is going quite well, isn't it? I'm quite pleased with how is it going, and all the feedback the people is sending encourages me to keep it improving it daily. There are great features in the oven that I expect to release soon. Also, at some point we should spend one weekend cleaning the site's code and making it tableless.

It's basicly being a great experience where I'm learning quite a lot! :')

After having this prod during 2 years unfinished in my computer mainly because the author of the music didn't answer the email I decided to at least make the concept/preview public. So I just submited to pouet today and I was totally shocked of the positive people's comments. I guess I'll have to finish it somehow. The main problem is that it's done with 3pxstudio and the 3D exporter only works with 3dMax4 or 5 I think. So I guess I'll have to finish it keeping the same objects.

Let's see how it goes. By now.. enjoy the preview!

bye bye escena.org!
That's one of those frustrating posts, I guess..

Ok, as you may know escena.org has been serving the spanish demoscene for quite a lot of time now. The first site I know that was doing that was lobocom demoworld that was done by jcl, meanwhile, I felt that lobocom wasn't really working well, it was cool as demoscene information, but wasn't really a community platform. So I started the project spanish demoscene center. It was really basic, everything done in HTML by hand, every update was done by hand. At some point, an old scener (Mc_Tr) gave me a hand with some cg scripts for the people list and things like that.

So, the portal was online for some months (Arroutada 7 period), and then throught demoscene-sp SiN, Real Ice, some others and I had a fight regarding the fact of having a website for our scene in our language. Real Ice already had something started and also had the domain escena.org registered, SiN was also doing what on the beginning was called spd2k (spanish demoscene center 2000 (ugly name, uh?) in collaboration with naif, and at some point we decided to join the projects in one. And some months later (Euskal 8) escena.org was released for first time.

SiN was actually doing a great job with the site, moving the site, preparing interviews, but he just got quite angry as the people didn't really used it as he was expecting. So, since then everything started to go down and down, I was always there as admin, with sml and ccm. Also at some point I did some extra code for the site and event a forum. I atually designed the v2 (4 years after the first design), but because a couple of reasons I got really pissed off (mainly the way the scene people is) and stoped the project.

However I was still moderating news, and doing a little bit of work for the site. Meanwhile sml was really doing a lot of content for the site, flash-quiz, mat adventures.. lots of stuff.. but we always were looking for more people to help us with the site. Even SiN at some point said that he needed someone to continue with it, that he just didn't feel like doing it.

So, now. Today.
escena.org is now a "Lunar and Planetary Real Estate", (in fact real ice just told me right now that the domain expired and we lost it). and.. spd.planet-d.net is giving again a 500 error as usual.

and you know what?! I DON'T GIVE A FUCK, I WON'T FIX IT!

Windows Vista - Part 2

Ok, Emulin was a bit far but finally managed to give me the build 5270 of this new OS. I firstly tried to install it with a server version key by mistake. I took twice of longer, the final instalation was something like 7gbytes and the skin was the one of windows95 and there was no way to change it. Great!

So, after a little bit of research I found out the mistake about the key I used and found a client version key. I have to say that they improved a lot the installer tho the progress bar is still not working. Now since the beginning you see the glass style thing with a decent resolution. So after 45min doing the installation this time I was able to start using the OS. I thought everything was going to be quite slow with that skin thing, but in fact, everything was quite fast and smooth, with a sublte animation when closing or minimizing the window, with the blur effect with the background and other windows. And also with that new posh thing for changing between windows you see in the top screen. Really nice visual improvement!

I tried to install quicktime to be able to see the famous keynote from Apple's Jobs but it didn't work properly :'( Then I tried to watch any demo, I tried first Heaven 7 and worked properly and smooth. Then I tried fr-025 but unfortunatelly didn't work. So, looks like everything needs to be recompiled to run in this OS. I was going to try installing Trillian but was quite late then, it's still not using my wireless properly.

If you want more Vista Build 5270 screenshots, check out this Paul Thurrott's gallery.
